Originally from Federal Way, Dr. Benjamin Blackner is excited to meet his patients while providing them with the personalized and exceptional dentistry that they deserve. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Blackner grew up having to get plenty of dental work done, and he initially did not enjoy going to the dentist. However, it wasn’t until he was working as a dental assistant that he realized his enjoyment of helping people feel as comfortable as possible in the dental chair. He knew that he was uniquely qualified to understand those with dental-related anxiety and how to help them cope with their fears. Now, he practices his skills and utilizes his expertise to ensure that patients can feel as safe and comfortable as possible while undergoing their dental treatment.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Blackner first attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate degree and license in dental assisting. He worked as a dental assistant for several years before going off to Creighton University School of Dentistry where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. On top of seeking continuing education to refine and expand his skills, he is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Washington Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Away from the office, Dr. Blackner loves being with his family and is incredibly proud of their accomplishments. He enjoys natural beauty and doing outdoor activities as often as he can. He is also an avid sports fan, especially Seattle sports. One fun fact about him is that he is an intramural volleyball and pickleball champion!
